I have had a personal goal of ridding FB for good, and somehow the time seemed right for it to happen now. I'm giving friends/family the chance to email me their information of emails or numbers before the end of this month and then my FB profile page will officially be gone. I am going to have to download a lot of pictures onto dvd burners but other than that it doesn't seem too complicated to be done. I used to own a myspace page about 5 years ago, and now FB has just kind of gone in the same direction. I will admit even though I don't have a strong addiction to drugs, alcohol, shopping, etc, I do have a problem with getting on the internet way too much. I won't be going "cold turkey" but I will from time to time check my email and my blogger account here. I want to change my habits and do something more important with my time. I can see my time being filled with my kids, cleaning my house better, time with God more abundantly; just generally better things to make my life feel fuller.
Oh, goodness. The photos. I might start doing that too. It is a time waster and it really has no point point.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend that you change the name of the blog to ellynature or something similar to share with family.
Yay, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was so addicted to the net years ago, and last year I realized that FB was leading me to be that way again. I love the title of this blog.
